Community Engagement Manager (m/f/d) - Renewable Energy
Based in Bogotá, Colombia or Panama City, Panama
Due to continued business expansion, we are looking for a Community Engagement Manager (m/f/d) to lead the process of building relationships between our organization and the communities that we serve.
The Community Engagement Manager will be leading the stakeholder relations with the local communities. This position is based in our Bogotá or Panama office.
Your responsibilities:
- Supports the Sustainability Manager in overseeing and implementing all social activities at a project level, as defined within the Environmental & Social Management System
- Lead the development & implementation of the Environmental & Social Management Plan and Stakeholder Engagement Plan at project level
- Lead Environmental & Social Impact Assessment development or any other social base studies at development phase
- Lead the engagement with stakeholders, like local organizations, government, trade unions, and other groups on issues related to workers, environment, and community.
- Develop and Coordinates with MPCES’s team to implement social action plans
- Monitors & Report Social Engagement activities & data
- Reports any issues that create a significant risk at project level
- Contract Management
Your profile:
- A bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar position, preferably within the renewable energy industry. in the Region.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the community and stakeholder engagement requirements and consenting and public consultation processes.
- Familiarity with regional requirements for project shared value measures
- Strong understanding of ESG principles, frameworks, and international guidelines, including experience in ESG reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, and an ability to work within a team;
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of other influential stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Spanish and fluent English are essential.
