Associate Investment Management (m/f/d) – Renewable Energy
Join the multinational and enthusiastic team of MPC Capital, an internationally growing asset and investment manager. Our focus is on tangible asset investments (real assets used as investment property) in the core segments Energy and Maritime Infrastructure.
We are looking for an Associate Investment Management (m/f/d) to join our renewable energy investment team. The position is based in Hamburg, Germany.
We also encourage candidates to apply even if they do not fulfill the desired work experience of 3 years. In this case, employment as an Analyst Investment Management (m/f/d) would also be considered.
Overview:
As part of the team that invests across renewable energy technologies with current focus on Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, the Associate/Analyst will be responsible for supporting the financial analysis, due diligence and documentation of asset acquisitions and financing transactions. The role entails working closely with the senior management team as well as colleagues from legal, asset management, project development, construction and ESG at our offices in Hamburg, Panama,Bogotá and Amsterdam.
Your responsibilities:
- Participate in all aspects of a transaction from asset origination to financial closing
- Screening and identifying investment opportunities
- Develop, review and maintain complex financial models and valuation analyses
- Conduct and manage due diligence processes for project acquisitions
- Support debt and equity raises
- Preparing and review of key transaction and project documents such as NBO, BO, SPA, SHA, PPA, Loan agreement
- Preparing investment memorandums and presentations for internal and external committees
- Interact with external bankers, lawyers, project developers and financial and tax advisors
- Interface to MPC corporate units such as legal, accounting and treasury
Your profile:
- Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Industrial Engineering with strong academic credentials
- Minimum three years of work experience; in case of less work experience, employment as an Analyst will be considered
- Structured and independent work as well as analytical and entrepreneurial thinking are for you as natural as careful and diligent work
- You have an affinity for numbers , a very good understanding of general financial management issues and strong financial modelling skills through your experience you can contribute with a strong negotiation and communication skillset
- Experience in developing countries would be helpful, but is not required
- Fluency in German and English is required; Spanish language skills would be helpful, but are not required
- High proficiency in MS Office package, especially Excel and PowerPoint is required
